Position: Global Director, Supply Chain Management

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer 

 

Purpose

 The Global Director, Supply Chain Management leads the development and implementation of the Company’s global supply chain strategies and ensure that supply chain practices adhere to regulations, minimize risk of fraud through transparency procurement practices, open competition, control mechanisms and best project management supply chain practices.

 

Essential Responsibilities

 In collaboration with the Executive and other Value Stream leaders, designs, develops, delivers and executes tactical, operational and strategic Supply Chain processes to ensure all global sales orders are on time and error free

  • Plans, implements and controls the efficient, effective forward and reverse flow and storage of finished goods
  • Provides standard lead-time commitments to order fulfillment and ensures forecast accuracy objectives are met
  • Manages vendors globally, ensuring quarterly reviews are conducted for cost effectiveness
  • Develops and reports Supply Chain Management performance metrics
  • Drives logistic cost reductions (brokerage, carriers, taxes, duties, etc.) through efficient management of all freight carriers, inbound and outbound
  • Evaluates and enhances Supply Chain policies and procedures to improve Supply Chain performance and oversee the implementation of industry best practices to ensure integrity and security of our products
  • Identifies cost drivers and delivers cost savings and quality improvements in line with the Company’s business plan, year over year\Works with relevant technical teams to standardize designs, quality, specifications and packaging
  • Maintains contact with suppliers throughout the procurement process: at delivery, quality control action results, for returns/rejections, vendor’s performance issues.
  • Balances short term operational issues while maintaining a strategic long-term view
  • Develops junior staff to the next level by ensuring assigned staff fully understand projects, providing effective feedback and identifying and promoting growth opportunities for them
  • Promotes a positive environment for staff and identities and works with management to address any issues that are creating barriers to an optimal work environment for all staff
  • Provides feedback, advice and back up, as needed, to other members of the management team to ensure all have the support to effectively run the business and promote a positive work environment
  • Consistently demonstrates the ability to successfully move into problem-solving mode whenever challenges or concerns arise
  • Works well with and demonstrates respect for colleagues at all levels and consistently contributes to a positive work environment for the entire staff
  • Requires extensive travel and on-call hours to work among different time zones

  • Develops, executes, and manages annual budgets for the division utilizing the corporate guidance and sales forecasts to contribute to overall corporate goals.
  • Provides leadership for all staff and ensure that the functional groups are integrated into team atmosphere working toward common goals and objectives and maintaining employee morale.
  • Ensures that the appropriate compliance and operational metrics exist, are trended, and communicated to executive leadership at corporate headquarters.
  • Ensures that all local and federal codes are upheld and complied with as appropriate for the operations of the facility.
  • Develops and leads corporate initiatives and goals, maintains best practices for operations including Customer Service Excellence, Quality, Lean Management, and Safety.
  • Ensures company values are communicated consistency and integrated throughout the organization.
  • Defines goals for all direct reports and ensure regular performance feedback through formal performance and goals review every 3 months in addition to probationary term reviews

  • Supply Chain, Inventory, Purchasing, Logistics

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Economics, Business Administration, Purchasing, Logistics, Statistics or Manufacturing; MBA is an asset
  • 10+ years in a similar role with increasing responsibility, which includes responsibility for e-planning, purchasing, logistics, project management and/or enterprise resource planning
  • Strong ability in negotiations and contract development
  • Proven business acumen
  • Established skills in project management, cost accounting, e-business/e-procurement systems
  • Global experience, strong business ethics and legal contracts prowess
  • Superior communication and listening skills
  • Familiar with or has experience in the waterpark industry
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Ability to travel minimum 20% of time
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
