WhiteWater is honored to be a part of this EPIC and ground-breaking project for the city of Grand Prairie. The chance to contribute to the success of this partnership between public and private sectors has been a rewarding experience for the entire WhiteWater team. “We cannot say enough about the line-up of vendors behind this development, it has been a true collaboration between all of us and the city to create a dream park we hope Grand Prairie can be proud of for decades to come,” said Steve Brinkel, WhiteWater’s President of Parks and Recreation Division.
WhiteWater’s contribution to the waterpark is a carefully chosen assortment of waterslides and attractions, designed to not just excite and entertain but to appeal to a wide group of guests. WhiteWater’s range of products in Epic Waters provides opportunities for families to really connect by having fun together, across generations, and will delight toddlers, teenagers, and parents alike. “When we design a park, we look at what would make a comprehensive ride mix based on how people play. It’s more than just products, it’s about creating an overall solution that is right for the community and how they will use it,” continued Brinkel.
Part of that solution is ensuring that citizens enjoy a happy and safe day out at the park, which is why WhiteWater is always committed to safety. All of WhiteWater’s slides go through computer-generated ride simulations as well as on-site testing before commissioning to ensure the safest ride possible. We also work with our customers to ensure that they understand safety parameters, have the information they need to properly train staff and to educate riders so they ride properly.
After safety comes the fun. We know that there is more than one way to play and WhiteWater’s team of experts have identified four fundamental styles, which we consider when designing parks and developing new products. It was important to have something for all play types which is why Epic Waters ticks all of the boxes. The E Racers slides will appeal to The Challenger, The Lasso Loop to The Adventurer, The FlowRider to The Socializer, and Rascal’s Roundup to The Dreamer. Providing opportunities for the different ways we all like to play ensure that guests get the most out of visits and create positive lifelong memories.
The final result for Epic Waters is a ‘parks and rec’ facility on par with any private park in the U.S. “We make these rides for the biggest brands in the world, the fact that Grand Prairie will have them in their community is pretty exciting,” commented Brinkel. Brinkel went on to say, “when Epic Waters opens, it should, based on our experience, prove to be a big draw for the city, and a big benefit as well.”
WhiteWater congratulates the City of Grand Prairie and their Parks, Arts & Recreation Department because this is a visionary project of a scale not seen in decades in the U.S. for a community aquatic facility development. “Grand Prairie is generating a lot of interest in our industry, a lot of other cities and recreation departments are looking at this project with admiration. This development will set a new standard of what a community development can be, with the right plan, team, and, most of all, vision for community,” concluded Brinkel.
Slides and Attractions
At over 69 feet high, Epic Water’s LassoLoop is the tallest indoor AquaLoop in the United States.
The world’s only truly looping waterslide, AquaLoop, will leave riders and spectators breathless. Entering the AquaLaunch capsule, riders eagerly await for the trap door to open below them, dropping them into a near-vertical freefall before racing them around a 45-degree angle loop.
Epic Water’s Constrictor + Boomerango ride is the world’s first inner tube fusion slide. Combining two iconic slides into one, the tight turns of a Constrictor lead into a steep drop that takes riders up the imposing wall of the Boomerango. Reaching the top of the wall, riders experience a feeling of weightlessness before dropping back down into the splashpool.
North America’s very first 2-person inner tube AquaSphere ride is a journey through high-speed twists and turns of an enclosed serpentine flume plus the added excitement of being spun into giant enclosed AquaSpheres where riders oscillate around 90-degree corners.
The most popular surf simulator in the world, Epic Water’s FlowRider Double will give North Texans the chance to experience the thrill of surfing.
Riders are dispatched, head first, into enclosed high-speed AquaTubes that spiral alongside each other through a 360-degree loop before opening up into a surprise drop of colorful lanes. Riders will then challenge side by side to see who is Epic Water’s fastest racer.
Falling over 60 feet straight down, riders plummet at 38 miles per hour before racing into the splashdown lane below.
Riders wind down the enclosed flume of this classic high-speed AquaTube slide.
Jam-packed with over 40 play features and a 300-gallon tipping bucket, this AquaPlay 1050 is the perfect hub for young kids to explore, discover, and dream.
