Schlitterbahn New Braunfels

New Braunfels, United States

A mother and a child riding a children's water coaster.

Located on the Comal River in Texas, Schlitterbahn New Braunfels was built around its natural landscape and was inspired by the region’s river-tubing culture. It is one of the most influential water parks in the industry, helping to establish the modern water park resort model, demonstrating that a water park can serve as the main reason for an overnight stay.

In 1996, Schlitterbahn New Braunfels made its mark as THE park that introduced the world’s first uphill water coaster—the iconic Master Blaster—still popular as ever. It was only fitting that the first water coaster for children, Mini Blaster, would debut here as well, in 2023.

For the same expansion, the park unveiled Schatze’s Storybrook Park, a delightful kids’ area with six new slides, an AquaPlay 550, a 1,200-gallon tipping bucket, and ample AquaSplash toys for a total of over 70 play features.

Always looking to bring new guest experience, Schlitterbahn New Braunfels opened a head-first, high-speed 3-Lane Mat Racer in 2026, complete with a built-in timing system for some serious competition.
