Case Study: Candyland Theme Park at Vogue Hotel Supreme Bodrum

Along Türkiye’s Aegean coast, Vogue Hotel Supreme Bodrum has built its reputation around giving resort guests plenty to do without having to leave the property. At the heart of that offering is Candyland Theme Park, where a major expansion from WhiteWater has added a new landmark to the resort skyline: Flamingo Tower, standing more than 66 metres (217 feet) high.
Wrapped in shades of blue and green and crowned by a giant pink flamingo, the tower makes its theme part of the architecture itself. Viewed from a distance, the silhouette of the completed structure takes the shape of a bird in flight, with the slides extending outward like wings across the skyline. Rather than relying on height alone to make an impression, the theming turns the tower into a focal point for the wider water park, while the attraction mix delivers something different at every level, from side-by-side competition and extreme G-forces to uphill propulsion.
Candyland puts competition at the centre of the experience with two different Parallel Pursuit attractions, giving guests the option of how they want to race: headfirst on a mat or feet first as a body slide. Both use plenty of low-wall sections and sweeping curves, so riders can see their competition next to them as they make their way toward the finish. That visibility makes the race feel much more intense, whether it’s friends, siblings or parents and children battling for bragging rights. Losing by a fraction of a second also gives riders a pretty good reason to head straight back up the tower and try again.
Both attractions incorporate AquaLucent effects, creating changing bursts of light and colour as riders move through the course. Combined with the open racing sections, the experience continually shifts between seeing your competitor alongside you and being immersed in the effects inside the flume, adding another dimension to two racing experiences that already feel distinctly different depending on whether guests choose the body or mat option.
While racing brings a social dimension to Flamingo Tower, two new attractions push the experience in a different direction. Canyon and the three-person inline Master Blaster Ultra both make their world debuts at Candyland, introducing very different combinations of speed, movement and forces to the tower.
Canyon will open as part of the tower’s second phase next spring. Rather than stretching the experience across a long ride path, Canyon concentrates those sensations into a compact feature. Its distinctive sawtooth edge gives the element an unusual profile from outside the attraction, while also contributing to the dynamic sensation riders experience as they move through it. Using an open flume, riders can peer over the side of the tower and see the activity happening as guests take on the element. It makes Canyon as much a visible part of the tower’s architecture as it is a thrill experienced from inside the slide.
The three-person inline Master Blaster Ultra takes a very different approach. Stretching more than 338 metres, the attraction builds on Master Blaster’s water-propulsion technology, which uses powerful nozzles to accelerate riders uphill. But rather than following a repetitive hill-drop-hill rhythm, that propulsion gives the course greater freedom to change elevation, direction and speed throughout the journey. At Candyland, three guests ride together in an inline raft, sharing a course that reaches speeds of up to 32 km/h. As the raft climbs the wall, the combination of speed and banking creates some of the ride’s biggest physical sensations before sending riders back into the next section of the course.
Alongside the new ride experiences are two attractions that tap into one of the most enduring reasons guests climb a water slide tower: speed. Opening next spring, both slides are designed for thrill seekers, each creating that sense of speed in a distinctly different way.
On Flatline Loop, much of the thrill begins before the rider even starts moving. Guests step into the AquaLaunch capsule and wait for the floor to drop out from beneath them, sending them accelerating below. That moment of anticipation, followed by an immediate burst of speed, makes the launch as much a part of the experience as the slide itself.
Launching at 50 meters in height, High-Speed AquaTube keeps the momentum going in a different way. Its streamlined ride path creates a fast, direct descent, giving guests the chance to experience sustained speed without the larger features found on some of the tower’s other attractions. Where Flatline Loop builds tension before releasing riders into the course, High-Speed AquaTube focuses on the rush of the descent itself.
Together, the two high-speed slides add another dimension to the tower’s broader ride mix. Alongside head-to-head racing, shared raft experiences, and new features such as Canyon and Master Blaster Ultra, they ensure that guests looking for a more classic adrenaline rush have more than one way to find it.
For a resort water park, a slide tower has the potential to do more than provide a starting point for the rides attached to it. At Candyland, Flamingo Tower has been designed as part of the park’s identity, using its scale, colour, and theming to create a feature guests can recognize from across the resort. A single shared staircase keeps the structure itself relatively slim, making its 66-metre height feel even more dramatic while bringing all seven slide experiences together around the same vertical journey.
That journey begins well before guests reach the top. The approach to the tower takes them alongside the slides’ shutdown lanes, offering a close-up look at riders finishing their runs and building anticipation for what awaits above. Together, those details turn the tower into more than infrastructure for the slides: the climb, the views of the surrounding attractions, and the activity unfolding below all become part of the experience. For Vogue Hotel Supreme Bodrum, the result is a new centrepiece that strengthens Candyland’s sense of place and helps make the water park a destination within the wider resort.
