At the World Waterpark Association Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, WhiteWater received Leading Edge Awards for three extraordinary projects that showcase how landmark water attractions can transform destinations:
Inspired by the landscapes and wildlife of the Arabian Peninsula, Aquarabia Qiddiya City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, blends storytelling, adventure, and innovation across 250,000 m² in eight themed zones. A multi-day water theme park experience, it is unprecedented in scope, with WhiteWater delivering 28 water slides, two aquatic play structures, two water-based amusement rides, and an Endless Surf lagoon—the Kingdom’s biggest surf pool. The project boasts four record breakers, headlined by the world’s tallest and longest family water coaster—“Junoon Drop.” It also features many rides suitable for both riders in swimwear and in streetwear, thereby redefining what’s possible in terms of an inclusive guest experience, especially in the Middle East.

In April this year, “Surreal” at Beach Park in Aquiraz, Brazil, was officially certified by Guinness World Records as the world’s tallest water coaster. This Master Blaster + Constrictor + Rattler Fusion launches at 28 meters in height and takes riders straight into a 7-meter mega drop, followed by a series of exhilarating uphill blasts and drops, colourful AquaLucent effects, as well as high-banking turns and oscillations, through a minute and a half of thrills at speeds of up to 42 km/h. This attraction is so popular that a “fast pass” queue management system was implemented for the first time in the park’s history.

A groundbreaking project that helps elevate Blanca City as a premier residential and tourism development in southeast Vietnam, Aqua Adventure at Sun World Vung Tau demonstrates how world-class entertainment can drive growth and investment. The park impresses by combining innovative attractions, including Asia’s first Wall Runner, the world’s largest AquaForms 20 aquatic play structure, and a Mini Blaster that is the world’s longest water coaster for children, with theming rooted in the culture and heritage of the country’s south.

“We’re incredibly proud to see Aquarabia Qiddiya City, Surreal at Beach Park, and Sun World Vung Tau recognized by the WWA because, while each project is unique, they all share a common ambition: creating signature water attractions that redefine what a destination can be,” said Doug Smith, WhiteWater’s Head of Sales. These awards are a testament to the vision, creativity, and dedication of everyone involved, and we’re especially grateful to our partners for their trust and collaboration to push boundaries together.”
