Located in Hai Phong, the third largest city in Vietnam, VinWonders Vu Yen forms the entertainment centerpiece of the massive Vu Yen Royal Island development. Billed as an all-in-one park, this 480-hectare site invites visitors to enjoy a theme park, a zoo, a fairytale land, shows, and of course, a water park.
Named “Aloha Island World,” this water park brings tropical paradise vibes spanning 2.9 hectares. To transform VinWonders Vu Yen from a local park to a destination, the management needed something breathtaking, something iconic, something headline-making.
And they put their ambitions in the record-breaking “Rainbow Storm”—Asia’s tallest water slide tower.
High-Thrill and Classic Slides for a Great Ride Mix
Towering 52.1 meters over the Hai Phong skyline, Rainbow Storm is a landmark you can’t miss. It sports eye-catching cladding in warm, bright tones, and its four platforms launch seven body slides in dazzling colours. With a combined slide path of 738 meters, guests of every thrill appetite will find their water slide here.
The daredevils will surely head to the top of the tower—to the platform where a High-Speed AquaTube sits at 41.3 meters. After pushing themselves off into the flume, the rider will reach almost 50 km/h and zip around the tower three times before reaching the bottom.
No less thrilling are the two Flatline Loops—one yellow and one blue—on the second platform. At 22.9 meters above ground, riders step into AquaLaunch capsules, cross their arms and legs, and wait for a countdown, before the trapdoor opens to send them into a scream and a plunge. Hearts pounding, they will traverse a heart-pounding 360-degree flat loop at up to 42 km/h.
To complete the experience for adrenaline-seekers, a Freefall water slide drops riders from 15.2 meters in height. Reaching 53 km/h, this slide offers nothing but pure gravity—and that’s enough for the riders to brag about.
Not every slide on this tower needs to be super high-thrill, however. With top speeds ranging from 23 to 32 km/h, a Pool Sider and two AquaTubes provide the perfect exhilaration for those who do not want to be terrified.
