Hersheypark building largest water play structure in the world!

Hersheypark will debut The Boardwalk at Hersheypark for its 100th season; the new area is scheduled to open Memorial Day Weekend. The centerpiece of the 4-1/2 acre area is East Coast Waterworks, the first AquaPlay™ GIANT RainFortress built by WhiteWater West Industries Ltd.

Currently under construction, this interactive water play structure will be the world's largest multi-level play structure. East Coast Waterworks boasts 225 feet of bridges, seven slides, and two tipping buckets, one of which holds more than three metric tons of water which intermittently spill onto guests below. In addition, there are nearly 600 interactive water features including crawl tunnels, geysers, spray jets and pull ropes that guarantee an adventure for all guests. The East Coast Waterworks structure stands seven stories high and is more than half the length of a football field and incorporates the nostalgic feel of the legendary boardwalks famous in the Northeastern United States.
