ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for the following:

• Coordinate and monitor international logistics of imported and exported shipments via road/ocean/air for projects located around the globe ensuring smooth and on time delivery
• Ensure overall compliance with Canada / USA / Global import / export customs documentation and also ensure that all necessary documentation for exporting/importing goods and materials (e.g. permits, transportation of dangerous goods documentation, certificates of origin, etc.) are obtained and filed accordingly

PURPOSE:
The Designer, Play Structures position is responsible for: 1) the preparation of play structure engineering design submittals for client engineering review and approval and; 2) preparation of detailed shop drawings for manufacturing at in-house production facilities or at out-sourced locations around the world.

Designers, Play Structures produce high-quality engineering deliverables using SolidWorks and AutoCad 2D and 3D design tools in accordance with manufacturing and purchasing requirements and schedules. Designers, Play Structures check their own work and the work of others for accuracy, completeness and conformance to accepted design and drafting standards. 

Designers, Play Structures maintain design libraries, drawings and databases as required to keep design configurations up to date and maintain historical records. Play Structure Designers adhere to design procedures and constructively participate in evolutionary process improvement projects as directed by management. Play structure designers collect and correlate project information to produce tightly integrated, high-quality, accurate and complete departmental work product in a timely manner in accordance with company priorities.  This position requires detail-oriented, energetic, self-starters who possess the entrepreneurial spirit and a thorough understanding of accepted drafting practices.

• Ensure that designs are in compliance with the relevant governing standards of ASTM, EN and other international standards organizations, as applicable 
• Perform quality control checks on all engineering deliverables to ensure conformity to  accepted engineering practices and drafting standards (ASME Y14.100)
• Follow procedures for creating and resolving NCR/OFI (Non-Conformance/Opportunity for Improvement) reports
• Liaise with manufacturing to ensure that designs accurately reflect approved processes
• Monitor manufactured product to ensure it conforms to design as required
• Rapidly respond to manufacturing to resolve shop floor execution / design issues
• Ensure that required engineering deliverables are ready for release in accordance with agreed deadlines
• Verify that the manufacturing purchase order, project scope and engineering deliverables accurately reflect project requirements

• Work collaboratively to maintain, develop, test and validate new and existing CAD and PLM systems, methodologies and metadata.

POSITION:       Technologist, Control Systems

DEPARTMENT:  Mechanical and Controls

REPORTS TO:   Mechanical and Controls Manager

PURPOSE:

Responsible for electrical, control system, software design and redesign of ride control systems and/or ride effects. The Technologist, Control Systems is a key role that ensures that new rides attain a technical design advantage that meets the high quality standards set forth by the company. International travel is part of the role as the Technologist, Control Systems will also be responsible for ensuring that ride control systems are performing to the customer’s satisfaction and have been installed and certified to all safety requirements. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Control Systems Technologist will be responsible for the following:

• Programming of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) and HMI  for automated systems
• Hardware and software design of control systems
• Ensure conformance to machine control safety standards ISO 13849
• Interface peripheral sensors into safety control systems
• Electrical/Electronic prototyping
• Pneumatic and electrical motion control design and troubleshooting
• Embedded microcontroller programming (Assembly and C)
• Programming of stand-alone engineering applications (Visual Basic, C and C#)
• Creation of technical documentation for custom software and electronics developed
• Preparing functional and technical specifications
• Obtain Canadian Standards Association (CSA) certification of electronic systems
• Field wiring, testing and commissioning of electro-mechanical rides (travel required)
• Mechanical and electrical system trouble shooting
• Usage of Non-Compliance Reporting (NCR) / Opportunity for Improvement (OFI) procedures
• Creation of OEM manuals for electro-mechanical rides
• Work within existing  protocols for creation and file storage of parts, assemblies and drawings
• Maintenance and rework of existing parts, assemblies and drawings to conform to current protocols
• Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Engineering or technical degree or diploma in Mechanical, or Mechatronics/Robotics
• Minimum 2 to 5 years experience in a similar position is an asset
• Hands on experience with SolidWorks, Visual Studio, AutoCAD software, pneumatics, circuit analysis and electrical prototyping / troubleshooting
• Knowledge of PLC and HMI programming (e.g. ControlLogix, GuardLogix)
• Experience on system automation, zone controls, field devices
• Experience with panel design, building and testing
• Experience with hardware and software design of amusement ride control systems an asset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
• Ability to travel globally on short-term basis for periods up to 2 weeks at a time
• Must have a valid passport and no restrictions on obtaining visas
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the following:

• Managing and overseeing multiple projects concurrently, focusing on on-time delivery, minimizing warranty claims through effective quality control, and maximizing margin through cost control and revenue enhancement.
• Managing and overseeing client relations.
• Preparing, analyzing, reviewing, approving, and managing the execution of project paperwork, including estimating, contracts, project schedules, budgets, invoices, applications for payment, change orders, cost reports, cash flow projections, purchase orders, subcontractor bid documentation, shipping documentation project close-out reports and other paperwork necessary to manage and document projects through their lifespan.
• Reviewing and managing internal engineering process and schedule to meet project specific needs.
• Usage of Non-Compliance Reporting (NCR) / Opportunity for Improvement (OFI) procedures
• Reviewing, coding and approving invoices from vendors.
• Managing the timely collection of revenue from clients.
• Managing all Procurement activities.
• Monitoring/managing the installation Field Construction Supervisor activities on the project job site.
• Acting as the prime point of contact and liaison between the client and Whitewater and its partners.
• Coordinate and manage the interdepartmental and intra-company project team to meet project goals.
• Updating the Business Unit Leader, Project Services Manager and Sales Director on project variances from established schedules and budgets on a timely basis.
• Developing a well-rounded knowledge of products and installation requirements.
• Setting up and maintaining all project records in a project binder and digitally where possible and applicable.
• Completing project paperwork and liaising with various departments (engineering, shipping, manufacturing, etc).
• Lead one continuous improvement project per year

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in a Construction Project environment or equivalent training.
• Prior project management experience and/or related experience with construction management, large construction projects, structural steel, Aquatic Centres or Family Entertainment Centres is considered an asset.
• Post Secondary education in a related field of study; PEng Mechanical preferred
• The ability to read engineering drawings for general comprehension and take-offs is essential.
• Excellent computer skills including MS Word and Excel, SharePoint and MS Project; CAD software skills considered an asset.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and have valid passport with ability to travel globally.

• Negotiate Supplier Long Term agreement with suppliers with year on year productivity, better payment terms and lead-time
• Evaluate and manage existing and potential suppliers based on the principles of Total Cost of Ownership
• As per the requisitions,  places purchase orders with approved suppliers in accordance with agreements
• Develop cost saving initiatives in accordance with Strategic Purchasing Plan
• Monitor progress of orders and expedites critical orders
• Monitor and rejects non-compliant requisitions
• Resolve Invoice discrepancies
• Publish metrics
• Develop and / or support, implement, and manage supply chain Kan Ban programs
• Make continuous improvements in costs, lead times and inventory control
• Help develop and implement purchasing systems, procedures and strategies
• Reconcile material non-conformances
• Provide input in relation to improving the planning system and business processes
