Originally built in the 1950s, the Water Sports Palace in Moscow was part of the 1980 Olympic games which the Soviet Union hosted. Over the next 60 years, the aquatic centre hosted world championships, European championships, and many other water sports competitions. In 2016, reconstruction began at the park, giving it a new lease on life.

This renovated sports centre was outfitted with a brand-new aqua park that features a wave pool, an AquaPlay, AquaSphere, Constrictor + Super Bowl Fusion slide, Slideboarding, and an AquaLoop which opened in 2019. The aqua park also features a retractable sky roof from manufacturer, OpenAire, which allows plenty of natural light in during the winter months. Today, the Water Sports Palace is one of the largest sports entertainment complexes in Russia.
