Getting the Most Out of Your Water Park Investment: Performance Services Team
Team Spotlight
WhiteWater presents… the teams behind your most memorable water slides and attractions and those favourites yet to come. This month, we are shining the spotlight on the friendly faces that help clients get the most out of their existing WhiteWater products—the Performance Services Team.
Why Call Maintenance and Support “Performance Services?”
Think: inspections, maintenance services, refurbishments, warranty, tech support, education resources, operations and maintenance best practices, spare parts, audio/visual additions, slide dispatch additions, ride retrofits, installing Life Floor—all these are services that enhance the performance of an existing attraction.
And that’s the mindset we have. At WhiteWater, we stand by our products and love to help clients achieve high performance on their investments. Going beyond maintenance and support, the Performance Services Team aims for proactive partnerships with clients to ensure they make the most out of their equipment, staying with a client throughout an attraction’s entire life cycle.
Changing the Way We Work with Customers
No one likes attraction downtime, a.k.a. disappointed guests and lost revenue.
That’s why the Performance Services Team focuses on proactively maintaining attractions, providing training should a repair be needed, and working with the clients to have a full spare parts kit ready to go to minimize downtime. We know what kind of maintenance each type of ride needs in different environments so we can work with our clients before any problems could arise that would potentially shut down the attraction in the middle of their operation.
Besides, by proactively maintaining equipment, it can last longer—and earn bonus points in sustainability. In fact, we regularly service WhiteWater products that are 25-30 years old.
Quite Possibly, the Most Knowledgeable Team in the Industry
Our 15 team members have spent time working in 12 different departments, including over 190 years of combined experience in water park operations, construction, project management, manufacturing, engineering, product development, and procurement. The rich, cross-disciplinary knowledge of the Performance Services Team uniquely qualifies them as probably the most expert team in the industry who can understand and solve customer issues quickly.
Examples of Helping Clients with Performance
We have projects that help older attractions look brand new, such as resurfacing and gel coating water slides to give them a renewed, fresh appearance. As well, an existing aquatic play area can be transformed to give off new vibes just by adding Life Floor, a safety flooring system suitable for aquatic environments, that is highly customizable in terms of colour and design.
Other times, clients would like to invigorate an existing attraction by creating a new ride experience. Adding AquaLucent effects to AquaTubes would give dark segments colourful bursts of light and enhance the sense of speed. Adding audio and visual effects would intensify racing slides. Adding virtual reality would immerse guests in an imaginary world during a ride.
For clients who are facing labour shortages, we can help them with safely adjusting their play areas to provide sightlines that require fewer lifeguards or attendants.
Some Performance Services projects can also vastly improve efficiency. Our skilled team will evaluate rides for water and energy efficiency, proper water flow, and ride performance. Some clients might want to use the same rafts on multiple slides, so we can test slides for the possibility of using fewer types of vehicles.
What’s Next for Performance Services
With a shortage of skilled maintenance workers in the past few years, more and more clients are looking to have a trusted partner visit their park with worry-free support packages. While on site, our team of qualified advisors performs regular maintenance, touches up sealants and surfaces, and provides training to current staff on WhiteWater attractions for operations and maintenance. Our clients benefit by lowering risks when staff turns over and minimizing ride downtime, hence reducing the need for large capital expenditures to bring the rides back to life from lack of maintenance over time. This is what the Performance Services Team embraces—a true ongoing partnership with our clients to ensure their park performance exceeds guest expectations.
